01Who we are

SCN Traders Auto (“SCN Traders”, “we”, “us”) supplies vintage, classic, discontinued and remanufactured automotive parts. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or contact the parts desk, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

02What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for a part and get it to you:

• Contact details — your name, email address and telephone number, given when you submit an enquiry, call the parts desk or message us on WhatsApp.
• Vehicle and part details — year, make, model, VIN, casting or part numbers, and any photographs you send us. A VIN identifies a vehicle rather than a person, but we treat it as your information because it is usually linked to you.
• Order and delivery information — the delivery address, what you ordered, what it cost and the shipment reference.
• Correspondence — the emails, messages and call notes that make up the history of your enquiry.
• Basic technical data — the pages you visited and the browser you used, as recorded in standard web server logs.

We do not take card numbers or bank details through this website. Payment is arranged separately, directly with you.

03Why we use it

• To search our supplier network and prepare a quote for the part you asked about.
• To verify fitment against your vehicle before anything is dispatched.
• To fulfil, pack, ship and invoice an order, and to handle returns and warranty claims.
• To answer follow-up questions and keep a record of what was supplied, which is what makes a later warranty claim straightforward.
• To meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

We do not send marketing email unless you have asked for it, and every marketing message carries an unsubscribe link.

04Who we share it with

Sourcing a discontinued part means asking other people whether they have one. To do that we share the vehicle and part details — year, make, model, part or casting number, photographs — with yards, dismantlers, remanufacturers and OEM/ODM partners in our network. Your name and contact details are not shared for that purpose.

Beyond that, information is shared only with:

• Carriers, who need the delivery address and a contact number to deliver the goods.
• Our hosting, email and accounting providers, who process data on our instructions.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade contact lists.

05How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 24 months, because buyers frequently come back to a search we have already run. Order records are kept for the period required by tax and warranty law — ordinarily seven years. Web server logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics.

Enquiries submitted through the form on this site are also written to a log file on the web server as a delivery safeguard. That file is not publicly accessible and is cleared periodically.

06Your rights

You may ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete information we no longer need, or stop using it for a particular purpose. Email usedcarparts.us@aol.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply — for example, California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what is collected and the right to ask that it be deleted. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that legislation.

07Cookies

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers; that request carries your IP address and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Your browser may store small amounts of data locally to remember interface preferences. Nothing in that storage identifies you, and clearing your browser data removes it.

08Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry data is transmitted to our mail server and stored in mailboxes protected by access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect, limit who can see it, and do not hold payment details at all.

09Changes to this notice

If this notice changes materially we will update the date below and, where the change affects how we use information you have already given us, tell you directly.
